    Policy Expert's wording begins by saying "We will cover your buildings… against loss or damage directly caused by the following covers" (emphasis mine). It then goes on to list a fairly standard list of perils (fire, flood, storm etc etc).

    In other words it's a standard insured peril policy - it i defined by a list of things that it covers, not by a list of things that it doesn't cover.

    So it you can't find the section that says you are covered against encroaching bamboo, I'm afraid that means you're not covered against encroaching bamboo.
