We have accounts with Lloyds and Halifax, and have opened the 8% regular savers for Lloyds (OH), Halifax (both of us), and BoS (myself only). I have already got 2 Lloyds RS which I will let run to term.

I didn't have any previous relationship with BoS but managed to create a login by using my Halifax account details. I now have the 8% saver but nothing else with them. The terms do say about having a current account as I recall.

I'm thinking of maybe opening a current account with BoS, to perhaps operate as a donor account for a future bank transfer bonus. However, I am early retired with no current income, living off savings and my OH (who is also retiring shortly).

Will BoS be asking questions about my income and source of it (about £15.K in bank interest and a few dividends at the moment)? Don't want to apply and get rejected, particularly as I know LBG can be a bit touchy, and we have these other 8% accounts. We've had a Premier account with paid-for benefits for years.

TIA.

Only one way to find out for certain ….. 😀

I wouldn't worry myself, and just apply. Worst case, they will turn you down but I would think you have a good chance to get accepted. Let us know what happened when you did apply 😎

I opened a new BOS current account last week.

The question on your income requests one MONTHLY figure, and they ask you to include in that:

    • Average take-home pay or earnings.
    • Pensions or savings income.
    • Income from investments or dividends.

So you can provide the savings interest and dividends as your income. They don't ask for any breakdown between Earnings/Pension/Savings/Dividends.

Remember to divide your annual estimate by 12 as the entry is a monthly figure.

In a separate question, they ask for your current total savings balance.

I think you should be fine to go ahead with the application. There is no minimum income specified.
