PCN After Breaking Down

Last year my car broke down when I was visitng my gym. My key wouldn't work and I couldn't find an emergency auto locksmith so I had to leave it overnight. I got the key fixed the following day but got a PCN from Euro Car Parks due to overstaying. I've since had DCB Legal chasing me. I told DCB Legal that I'd broken down and showed them texts from the mechanic that fixed the key. I realise now that this may have been a mistake but I thought at the time it would get the PCN cancelled. Obviously I didn't so that was probably naive of me.

We're at ediation stage and I've just spoken to mediation and was offered to settle for £35 (the cost of the court fees)….. I offered £10 and wasn't willing to go higher — I didn't want to offer anything but thought this may look obstructive.

I'm wondering what thechances of them going all the way to a hearing are.and whether the judge wil see this as a genuine reason or whether it doesn't msatter and they'll rule in their favour anyway.

Should've checke all this beforehand but you live and learn I guess!!

Any help will be much appreciated.

There are 901 discontinued DCB LEGAL cases on here in the thread by Umkomaas

your case will be discontinued just before the hearing fee is due, so wont reach an actual hearing, so no judge will be hearing anything.

You've done nothing wrong. Why would a parking company accept evidence of a breakdown and turn down free money?

They don't know you from Adam and plenty of Adams cave and pay up as soon as a court claim lands.

You're on the right track. Come back when you receive your letter from your local court.

Discontinuation will come in the autumn.

Zero. I'll eat my hat if you do!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
