I am currently trying to deal with an annoying and expensive situation.

I received a ticket from Smart Parking at the beginning of May ft for overstaying in a 'Private' car park.

I appealed and did not hear anything until this weekend , July 20th. It was an email from a debt recovery firm saying my fine had increased from £30 to £170 because I hadn't paid. I was given advice that my appeal had failed so didn't pay anything.

I am now trying to contact Smart Parking but it's not easy. I have emailed asking for copies of any warning I had not succeeded in the appeal. I have about a week before the fine increases to well over £200.

I don't know how else to deal with it.

Ignore them, do not contact Smart Parking or DCBL

    Wait For either

A Letter of Claim giving you days notice from DCB LEGAL

    Or

A Money Claim N1SDT pack from the CNBC in Northampton using MCOL

    LOL it's not expensive @Kaybea 🙂

You'll never have to pay it and it doesn't go up to £200. Even £170 is unrecoverable.

You need to read the forum. As long as you are not about to move house, do nothing until the claim form arrives. No CCJ is risked.

Did you not yet see post 4 of NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST? The pictures of the £170 letters to laugh at?

No link needed. Hop there yourself in a second. See my signature.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
