Severn Trent Water

No doubt other water companies could be substituted.

I have received numerous e-mails from Severn Trent warning of a water shortage, higher consumption (not me!) and the need to save water.

A house two doors away have an external water meter installed under a pavement cover. For the past week it's been leaking and is rapidly becoming worse. The volume of water has lifted the cover.

I checked on S.T's website to make sure it has been reported - it has.

Their words, my bold - "We are aware of the leak and are working hard to repair it by the 28th." So if it carries on until then, it will be close on two weeks and x litres of water wasted.

So Severn Trent, stop preaching to me about saving water.

..typical of privatised companies. We have had 6+ months of rain, then after a few weeks of sunshine we have water shortages….who would have thought??

you can unsubscribe from those texts and emails, I did last week after being inundated and similarly seeing multiple leaks around the streets

I hope the leak is on the "street" side of their meter. If not, I wonder how the volume consumption on the meter will be determined as mostly from the leak?

This might sound a bit flippant, but the wild birds are really enjoying bathing in and drinking from the leakage!
