Has anybody done this with their current supplier as they are near the end of contract? The new fix would be with their current suppier. Really be interested to hear.

Has it worked if within 49 days of end of contract only?

ED: Added 'new' to heading; clarified that the new fix was a current supplier new fix.

Yes, it is a standard way of working for Octopus.

49 days before the end of my IOG fix I received an invitation to lock-in my next fix to run from the end of my current fix.

Net result was that in February I locked in the current IOG rate to run from the end of my fix in April, so I now have the nice low rates from February until the end of my fix in April next year…

Just remember that your 14 day cooling off period starts from the date the switch is requested and not when the new contract commences.

Umm clever you - yes, with Octopus but my current fix ends 29/08.

Don't laugh but didn't go with my really strong gut feeling to fix at end of June. Now I am stuck with the irresponsible Trump ferrago (is that a word?)

However sure I have seen other suppliers obliging by letting customers select a tariff to start at end of current contract.

I've just sorted my fix with EDF - present one runs out end August like you

Taken a 2 year fix (actually cheaper than a 1 year !) with effect from Sept 1st. New DD starts October - adjusted DD for September goes down a bit.
