Morning everyone
I had a lovely phone call with little one this morning before I was out of bed…'guess what granny, we're on our way to Butlins!' DD thinks they should get there about 1.30.
I'm pleased you've had a lovely few days with your little one Camelot x
My brothers just been up collecting some paper work the solicitor needed to do with mam and dads house, so we had a quick catch up.
We have a teddy bears picnic at nursery this morning so I'm going in a bit earlier, should be finished by about 12.30, then that's me off for the next 6 and a half weeks…really looking forward to it.
Hope everyone has a good day today x
SuffolkSue - so sorry to hear your news, absolutely ridiculous that you have to pay or wait in pain.x

Morning all
Sun is shining but wind is a bit cool so not sitting outside for coffee this morning but will be out there later!
Just back from food shopping and nothing else going on today. Will finish one of the books I am reading and will start on another I've been looking forward to.
@Gers I was looking forward to that programme too. Turned it on, watched 30 seconds and realised I'd already seen it. I wish they would make clear on the schedule whether the programme is a repeat or not!!
@Suffolksue {{hugs}} to you and welcome back to the fold x
Have a good day all x

Morning all, thanks for today's start off @Gers.
We seem to have lost the stifling heat for now and the weather has settled into a pattern of cloudy starts with the sun making an appearance later in the mornings, gentle breezes and dry. Today we're forecast highs of 20 or 21 deg and it's much more bearable, especially for sleeping at night. Our schools start their long summer holiday next Wednesday so I'm hoping that isn't the signal for the weather to take a turn for the worse.
Friday admin to do today plus a catch up on some of the housework that's sadly been neglected of late as it's been far too hot to do much other than the essentials. On the plus side, it's been good drying weather so at least the laundry is up to date. 😁 First though, I want to give the fridge/freezer a tidy up before I even think about placing a grocery delivery. I'm sure that, with a bit of thought, I can manage for another week with buying just the essentials such as milk etc.
Usual Friday fish supper tonight, for me anyway. What DS will have depends on what time he gets home from work, he might not even fancy much at all. His office-based logistics support guy told him it would be a long 16-hour day with a 4 am start and potential 8pm finish, but could be later, traffic dependent. He's still enjoying the driving part of the job but not so much the paperwork that goes with it. I did tell him there would be some catch!
@Scarlet - Fingers crossed your DH's Dr gives him the go-ahead to apply for his driving licence back.
@camelot - I hope you and little one have a lovely dipping morning!
@TA - I still haven't been for the foot cream I want from Boots but there's nothing else I want (or need) from them so can't justify an online order for it. Maybe now the weather has cooled down a bit I might be more up for a bus trip into town.
@Gers - Pleased your trip to the optician went smoothly. Like you, I do hope this thread doesn't die a death - hence my 'waffle' posts even when I haven't much to say. I haven't watched any of 'I, Jack Wright' yet but it's on my watch planner.
@Ruby - Hope you have a new boiler fitted by the end of the day. Aw, lovely tale about the village pond.
@Izzy - Good luck with your freezer emptying efforts! Not easy, is it?
@mehefin - Fingers crossed the 10th anniversary barn dance will be a success and well attended.
@Suffloksue - I'm not surprised you're feeling so down after receiving such bad news. ((Hugs)) coming your way (gentle ones, of course).
@WL - I hope today's pub lunch will be just as enjoyable as last night's Morris event.
@dp1 - You may be having a 6 and a half week break but I'm sure LO will keep you occupied and regale you with tales of Butlins!
@Chrisca - Ah, the less than helpful TV schedules, one of my pet peeves - yet I still buy a guide every week!
Well, this won't get the baby a new bonnet so I'll make a move. Have a good day, take care and stay safe. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Morning all, it's a bit more cloudy today, not too bad though. Ldog has been out early to the park, not too far though. He was a bit off yesterday, think the heat is getting to him a bit but he does love a bit of sunbathing.
DS2s birthday today. Unfortunately he will have to spend his birthday money getting the van towed away to the garage, it conked out near DGS school after he'd dropped him off last night, he spent a while fiddling around, then called DS1 who went to pick him up and take him home. He and DH have just gone to meet the pick up truck & go down to the garage.
Camelot,aw, glad your DGD enjoyed her time with you, and @dp1 hope they enjoy Butlins .
We have to pick up DGS from school, an early finish at 1 - can't believe he's finished his 1st year at high school!
We had some marinated steak from the butchers last night, 2 steaks easily did the 3 of us cut into strips served with rice and was enjoyed by us all. It was from one of the butchers meat packs, dear at the time but lots in and lasts us ages with a good variety.
@Suffolksue I hope you find some relief from the pain soon.
Take care all.
