I really have to make as much savings as I can this year, what with my debts and my mortgage going up.
So today I sat and cut a load of voucheres out of some magazines I was given (one of my cost cuttings going to read all my friends mags instead of buying)
What I was wondering do I have to buy the item or will ASDA/Tesco just take the coupon as long as they sell the product and can I use the vouchers on the tills.
Thanks

tesco do, not sure about asda, best thing that i do is when you hand them over just say politly 'can you take any of these' hand over whatever you have got and they may take a few or all of them. That way you don't get embarrased if you ever get told that they wont take them, all sales assistants are different with their own 'rules', no harm in trying i saved 4.70 last night be using mine and was well pleased.0

in tesco choose the young lads/girls, they seem to scan most things.
Remember that there will be a new Daily Mail coupon in this fridays Mail and its worth £4 if your tesco takes them0

I can scan coupons on the self-serve in Asda - I've not had any problems so far.

i also self scan coupons at asda. Also sales assistants take 10 per cent of vouchers of goods if they sell products. i just hand a few coupons over and ask if i can use any. Not had any probs yet!!0

Can you self-scan vouchers in Tesco? I have just done a £60 shop there, and chose a young lad to serve me, I politely said to him, could I use these vouchers please, and he chose 2 of them (granted, they were both for £3 each) Would the self-scanner have accepted the £4 book voucher from the Daily Mail?2011: £10 Sports Direct Voucher, Peppa Pig Wii Game, Trivial Pursuit Card Game, £100 Chat magazine win, Dance workout dvd, Grease wii game,0

is there a limit to how many coupons you can use at tesco self service scan?I ask this because last week in my local branch in newbury, i had about 10 coupons in all and had bought most of the prducts, but after scanning 3 of them i had a message come up saying they needed to be verified or something. SA was quite rude about me using so many.0

I used one of the vouchers at the self service till but your not allowed to enter them into the machine the cashier came along and read and then place it into the machine so I didn't bother with the rest.
I'll try Tesco later on in the week0

Has anyone tried to type in the code for a coupon at a self serve till ? I have typed in the barcode of purchases before, but wondered if it also works on coupons. Reason I ask is that the Daily Mail book token just won't scan ! I'm too scared to type the code in and set off an alarm or something !
Made a mistake tonight and put in more coupons than the cost of my shopping. It alerted the cashier, but she just authorised it without making any checks so I got totally free shopping plus 49p for my trouble !0
