Intimidation tactics by DCB legal
Hi I have been challenging a claim of £200+ by Euro Car Parks via DCB legal. It's got to small claims court stage now. Just sent off some paperwork requesting a hearing. Something really odd and really quite intimidating has been happening. I get a call from them. I answer. They don't speak. Call ends after 15 seconds. One time I called back and then I got the messages about paying the fine and then after holding for about 10 minutes a call handler who wanted to talk about my case and try to make an offer to settle (still at over £200). Is this approach intended to intimidate or is it seen as a legit way to get you to phone them back. It's felt quite unnerving, it feels a bit like a stalker. Anyway yesterday I sent them an email with the pattern (this has happened 4 times now). Today they have offered a reasonable settlement figure by email. Am I right to accept that or should I flag up the intimidation to someone? It does feel like they are crossing a line.
Thanks.

They always mither people to death, nothing to see here
If the offer is between £5 and £20 , it may be worth considering, but they always discontinue before the hearing fee is due

Don't accept if you logged a proper defence completely ignore them and block their calls

Your case will be discontinued and you will pay nothing at all so block the calls & ignore.

Block their phone number!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I am also going to send details of my case to my local MP and the MP who's campaigning on regulation and fairness. If these companies are doing this to vulnerable people I find that really shocking and it should be stopped. They need as many examples as they can get.

Glad to hear you are raising your case with MPs. We need the industry to be regulated, and not on their terms.
