Good morning all from a sunny but windy Mehefinland.
Had a bit of a lightbulb moment the other day -The barn has concrete block walls-I have a reasonable amount of masonry paint left over from attacking the house last year = doh-why not paint the outside and it will hopefully make it cooler inside, and waterproof the walls somewhat. 1st problem was to remove all the ivy clinging as only ivy can, and fight my way through 5ft high nettles to get to the wall. So I merrily start sploshing the stuff on but the concrete blocks are not best quality and are very 'holey'.It looks like an horde of dalmatians has hit the wall. Anyway, I have persevered and am now on wall no2. I'm only doing it early in the morning as it just gets too hot to be painting in the sun. By 8.30 i was ready to stop! I think a second coat may be needed but the backbreaking bit has been done- well at least as far as I have got.The barn is 40ftx 30ft so I have quite a way to go, although I only intend to do the South and West sides at the moment and see if it has an effect.
Acquired an assortment of Kilner jars yesterday from a choir member. Won't take anything for them so some chutney will be going their way later in the year!
Hugs and spoons as always

Morning all.
Back from a few days away in Pembrokeshire on a Morris Tour and we all had a great time, although it was pretty sweltering in the heat. If anyone on FB wants to see a clip The Diocese of St David's, Church in Wales, has put a 30 second video online of the Bishop dancing with us outside the Cathedral. I'm the female musician.
Coming back we stopped overnight in Gloucester, at a not very nice P Innnn. Think I chose it because of the price! It was a somewhat chilly 18 degrees there on Monday morning but got warmer as we drove along the A40 to get home. All the washing has been done, leaving me with a huge pile of ironing.
DH is off for a blood test this morning and I have a couple of Library books to collect. Have brought DD back some Welsh cakes so might drop those off plus will tackle washing and possibly reproofing my Goretex raincoat, just in case.
@Gers The pink gunge is revolting. My dentist now uses a sort of wand, which he wafts all around my mouth at various angles and then presumably sends something away to have the crown made. I'm having a dental implant with bone grafting on Saturday morning and not looking forward to it at all! Plus, I have to pay…………
Hugs to everyone and I'm off to do stuff.

OOh - can't do a partial quote - how stupid! Anyway, I had the bone grafting for two implants done in 2021, not the most pleasant thing though, of course, the injections first deal with most of the pain. I found that having the stitches in place for (I think) six days was annoying as the gut is very sharp. However, despite the challenges I am so pleased with the result, best spend of money! Hope all goes well. xx

Afternoon all, still blue sky here, not as hot though. I've had a busy morning, early dog walk, visit to Morries ( which was heaving with only 2 tills open, the queue was stretching right to the other end !) , then on to the butchers to pick up the meat pack I ordered. Sat down for a coffee and realised it was lunch time 😀Lazy afternoon planned.
DS2 came to price up a job with DH, after that DH went to get a tyre pumped up and checked as it keeps going down, all sorted now.
Right better get something to eat, have a good day all.
