Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another sunny day in store but a more manageable temp of 23 deg they say, before the heat starts rising again. Though hopefully not as high as last week!
I got back from the caravan yesterday afternoon, faced with a very hot and stuffy house but once I had opened a lot of windows it soon cooled down a bit and I started the unpacking of everything. I seemed to have accumulated an awful lot of washing but that's thanks to the constant changes of clothes and cold showers needed in the hope of cooling down. I have made a mental note never to go again when a heatwave is forecast as it got hotter inside than out and that's saying something!
I have ordered a small top up shop of stuff I will need before next weekends sm trip. That's due this morning. Before that I want to water all the pots as they are crying out for water and looking very sad.
Have a good day folks if you can and take care x

Morning too. Yesterday was our long-promised and longed for scorcher. 😂 I even sat outside for more than ten minutes until I got too hot.
This morning I’m off early doors again, this time for a dental appointment in Glasgow. A potentially troublesome back tooth is being crowned so will have the horrible prep - that stuff in the mould. Then a bit of light shopping and home. The day looks to be glorious again so I'll enjoy the drive.
I hope that all are well - take care in the heat. xx

Morning all
Had a nice day at the boat club yesterday but the wind was relentless and so strong.
Waiting to hear if the double glazing will be finished today. Making some cupcakes for DS birthday at the weekend. I've got some wafer toppers with a big 40 on them to decorate them with.
Managed to see the last hour of the Wimbledon mens final. What a great game.
Nothing else planned today so hope everyone has a good day x

Morning, thanks Gers.
Seems fine out there, I don't think the temp is going to get above 20 today, it's never as hot here as it seems to be further south.
Hope your dentist visit goes ok Gers.
Hope you enjoyed your caravan trip TA.
It's a routine ordinary day ahead, I hope.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks.

Morning All
Another bright and sunny start this morning, shame I have no washing to do!
I had a busy day in the garden and allotment, my next door neighbours are on holiday but his Mum and Dad are there working on the rather overgrown garden, they took down most of a tree in another neighbour's garden that was overhanging so that's a job I don't have to tackle. Other NDN cut the hedge on the other side so I only had to tidy up, all in all a very productive day. Also washed the car and cleaned out the inside.
I've been coming out in little blisters when I go out in the sun and yesterday was absolutely awful, took antihisthamine and had a cool shower which helped, wondering if something has changed since I had the op last year and I can't cope with the sunshine any more. Anyway, will make sure I have sunscreen on all the time and see what happens. May try to get a Dr's appt but it's unlikely I'll be successful!
Allotment 1 today then out to lunch at a friend's house - looking forward to having a catch up.
Safe travels Gers, lovely day for a drive down the loch side.
Take care. XX

Good morning
Cloudy and cooler this morning. I haven't posted for a couple of days as nothing has been happening here, except trying to keep cool. But today, being cooler we are off out. It's our 53rd wedding anniversary, and although we don't celebrate as such, we are going for a drive and see where we end up.
If we eat out then we probably won't want much later, over the weekend we have had chicken and burgers, with salad of course.
Have a good day all, take care.

You are right IZZY we are never happy with the weather here are we! It's either too hot or too cold. Too wet or too dry,. too windy or no wind at all when you need it to cool down! Why is it never just right!

Morning all, thanks @Gers for the start. Good luck at the dentist today, hope it's not too uncomfortable.
This morning started off cloudy but the sun is starting to peek through now and it should be a more comfortable day with a light breeze and the thermometer reaching the mid-20s. Any hotter than that and I'll be wilting! The grass is very dry and brown in parts but it doesn't seem to deter the weeds. The rose bay willow herb and sticky willies I cleared recently are already making a come-back. 🙄
Thanks to the hot weather, the laundry keeps on coming but at least I'm getting to wear summer clothes that haven't had much of an outing over the last couple of years. The good news is that everything still fits. 😁 Today I'll be doing yet another quick wash load then, while it's still cool, giving the downstairs a more thorough dust/vac etc than it's had of late. I've had a rummage in the freezer for tonight's dinner and have pulled out a small h/m quiche to have with salad and oven chips. Strawberries for afters.
@camelot - My, you did have a busy day yesterday! Those little blisters sound like a touch of prickly heat, more than likely caused by the hot weather, but best to get medical advice to be on the safe side. If you can't get a Dr's appointment, perhaps a chat with the pharmacist might be helpful.
@remmie - Have a lovely day out on your anniversary. 🍾
Hope everyone has a good start to the new week, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi everyone,
Nice to hear how you're all getting on.
Thanks for the kick off @Gers
I had an op last week so recovering at home now. It was abdominal surgery and I can't bend down very easily and not allowed to lift anything heavy so generally no housework is getting done.
My OH is doing well but he's still working full time so you can imagine the state of the house and all the rest of it.
My little girl was babysat by grandpa on Thursday and spilt chocolate milk in the living room - didn't think to tell anyone and grandpa didn't notice!! You can imagine the smell and mess after I got home from hospital on Friday! 🤮 Place still stinks and I can't really attack it with any gusto.
I need to do some money bits and bobs today - update budget spreadsheet, call employer re sick note
Right, catch up soon :)
