CO-OP bank account opinions
Hi all,
Im at the point where I have very few options left for getting a bank switching bribe.
The one that's left is the coop bank but I wanted to know people's opinions and experiences of them please
Kind regards mark

Limited functionality in the app, I wouldn't like them as my main account but did transfer a burner account to them for the bonus.

Bit behind the curve technically but good account and good customer service.

Im a bit puzzled by your query. Are you saying you want to switch to the Co-Op Bank and use it as your main account ? Many of us are switching to the Co-Op Bank purely because they are offering a switch bonus. If it's just for the switch bonus, you just follow the requirements and collect your payment(s) and surely opinions & experiences don't matter.

I used to have an account with them, got quite a few referral bonuses from them during the Refer a Friend offers. Ditched them after they ended the offers. App was a PITA to use, whenever you could get it to work (it was often down for days), very unreliable and extremely basic.
If you want to go for the offer go for it, you can always ditch and switch afterwards. I wouldn't be in any hurry to go back to them, and as they consider the Refer a Friend offers to be switch offers don't qualify for this offer.

One thing Co-op Bank has going for it is a 7% 250pm regular saver.

You can get 7% AER with First Direct on up to £300pm or 8% AER with Santander on up to £200pm. If you're already with Co-op it may be worth having, but I wouldn't be tempted to go back to them for it.

Hi all,
Just to be clear that I would be transferring my account to the coop bank account.
The reason i asked about opinions about the coop bank account is because I'm at the end of any available bank account bribe switching options and thus would be stuck with them until I can find other accounts that I can switch to.
I don't want to randomly switch to a bank account in case they then offer a switch bribe afterwards and thus it wouldn't be an option for me.

They take a while to get set up and some things you have to go onto the website to do but they are gradually improving the app. If you want a nice simple app to use it does the job ok.

If you're unsure about transferring your main account why not switch a different account.
Most serial switchers on here don't switch their main accounts, they leave them where they are. That way it doesn't matter what the service is like at the new bank, as it won't be your main account. If you don't have another current account just open a second one at your current bank and switch that one. Leave the main one there.
