Santander rewards card

has anybody had difficulty getting a rewards card. I have been turned down. My income is above their requirement, I have a healthy joint bank account with my husband. I checked my credit rating, it was excellent. No debts, mortgage. Have never had any debts. They now say I have too many committments, I haven't any. Have been with them for fifteen years. Am baffled.

Too many commitments could mean too many applications...do you have a lot of credit cards/bank accounts? Have you made a lit of applications?

  • Joint bank and personal bank account and one credit card. Credit card paid off when I use it. One credit card application. Been with the bank years. They were happy to give me a credit card when I opened the account which I cancelled some years ago.

  • doesnt matter now. Have found a better rewards card and was accepted straight away.
