Hi everyone,

Great excitement here as we are going to meet the new baby at last. I wonder if they will have a name yet.

I ended up in a & e last night, very reluctantly. I went to the GP about the new medication I was reacting to and he did an ecg, decided there were changes and told me to go to hospital. I was not happy but went and of course they found nothing wrong. I had regaled the (very young) Dr with my tales of woe regarding all the medications I have reacted to in the last 12 months and as I was having the cannula out a nurse brought some tape to seccure the gauze. I recognised it and said if that's Transpore it brings me out in a rash. The Dr said "I didn't realise you were allergic to absolutely everything." It's so annoying because until I was in my forties I was completely bomb proof, now I only seem to touch something and it brings me out in a rash. At least we didn't have a huge wait, we got there at 6pm and left about 9.30.

We've decided to go to Bristol on Monday but looking at the weather we are going to take the very hot stuff with us, yuk.

Morning all (just), thanks @Scarlet.

Well, that was a sticky and uncomfortable night's sleep - I feel shattered. And today is going to be even hotter as we'll be up to 31 deg by mid-afternoon. 😮 So today, I'm staying inside the house or sitting outside in the shade, pretty much like yesterday, and flitting from one room to another to open/close windows, curtains and blinds as appropriate. It's ironic that during the colder months we crave better weather, yet when it does arrive we look forward to something cooler and even some rain. 😐️

Usual Friday admin to do, a trim of the hanging baskets, shower no.2 later in the day and probably not much else although the postman has mistakenly delivered a letter that should have gone to someone in the next maisonette block. It looks like a vehicle tax reminder letter so I need to deal with that asap. Usual chippy tea for me, DS is staying overnight in Glasgow (work) so won't be home until sometime tomorrow. I must have reached that point age-wise when unexplained bruises start to appear; I'm sporting a very large one on the back of my hand (doesn't hurt). I'm guessing I must have knocked it on something but I've no idea what or even when.

Dipping my toe back in here. Last few months have been tricky for us. Been through the courts to get deputyship for my Mum's affairs, rather tough as you feel slightly like a criminal, but I need to sell her house to pay for her care home fees, plus middle son had breakdown, even tougher - had him back to live with us for a while, he's now on the road to recovery and I can let myself back on the internet again.

We live in one of the parts of the UK where we've been stuck over 30C all week, I don't like it but we're trying to work round it as best we can, had a couple of nice evening walks where we saw roe deer in the local urban woods. I also at the rather mature age of 64 have just signed up for a free course in counselling, hoping my brain will be up to it, still rather amazed I past the Maths entry questions 😀
