Best bagless compact vacuum?

Hi all,
Looking for a decent small vacuum that is at least 1600w and bagless - have researched online but I have never really known what a 'decent' vacuum cleaner brand is - they all seem the same to me
I know Dyson is a big name but we can't afford £200 for one
We're in a small flat so considering a compact cylinder Electrolux 2000w one for £70ish but just wanted to hear what other MSERs have to say about the general best brand to get... any help much appreciated

Sorry but a Dyson is the only one you want. Check out your local freecycle group0

I have done some research and the Dyson Animal, prob closest to what we want, only gets around 2.5/10 in reviews... any particular Dyson model you recommend? We can only afford £80 max.MFW #185

I bought a Morphy Richards PerformAir Pets cylinder cleaner 1900 watts. I am an avid Dyson fan but, like you, I didn't want to pay out for another one when it was going to be used on the stairs only!
I did my research and this one came up with excellent reviews. It is around the £100 mark, but I got it for £70 in Currys a month ago, so look out for offers. It really is superb - the suction is beyond belief! :T

See if there are some old Dyson's on the market, or discounted on-line. Or of course, eBay, how about this item number: 330201350261 on ebay expires at 16:28, and it's currently at £45 (just found it on a search).
Dyson also do a smaller hand held versions, but I don't know the price...
We've had two Dysons, and they have been amazing, only upgraded to a newer one when the multi-cyclone appeared, never had a vacuum like it, fantastic. Puts our old Hoover and Vax to shame. Not really the recommendation you wanted!0 -
Or, (carrying on my ebay search!), another DC07, brand new item number: 300187768289 and only at £51 at the moment + £10 P+P (this is similar to our model, and it's amazing!)
For a bit more, and the latest technology, they DC14 brand new on ebay for £122 + £10 P+P, item number: 300187751370, OK it's a little over your budget, but not bad as they are normally over £200.
Hope that helps!0 -
Thanks so much all - I guess I am keen to get something that's guaranteed but below the £80 mark... and also compact... the Dyson DC07 would be far too big for our tiny flat sadly...
Seems like Amazon have the Morphy Richards Perfomair 1800w for £89.97 or the 1900w version on the Amazon Marketplace for £69.99 plus delivery... maybe one of those would do the trick. Will have to shop around!MFW #185
