Bank error - Missed mortgage payment

They do bring a bit of colour, can't complain there.
Still, a couple more quid that the bank won't miss and she can go and choose a few bunches of her own!

OP Can I ask one question?
Was the error 100% the bank's fault - did you have sufficient cleared funds in your account to make the mortgage payment?
1 -
There was indeed. Always funds in the account at the start of every month. Mortgage payment collected on and around the 5th.
This payment was collected on time as normal, so nothing to flag up to me. That's why it was only caught as I check my credit score ad-hoc, as has been suggested to me by another user.

Worth noting you don't get compensation for things that might have happened. If you didn't make any credit applications during the time the incorrect missed payments were noted then you can't expect compo that they 'might' have been rejected had you happen to make them.
Like others I think the offer is fair. But sounds like you don't want to hear that.

Oh it’s probably fair. Least I thought so until my wife was offered more than me.
Now I’m not so sure. And if they can’t offer compo for things that might have happened, they probably should have offered zero, no?
It’s a real brainer.1 -
Well there is an element of inconvenience which is subjective. Maybe worth pushing for what she got, which was?

£450.
So, £900 probably more than I thought it was worth at first. Glad I didn’t drop it sooner now1 -
So your wife is getting money and also you. Take jt as a win. Use the money to pay off any debts or treat yourselves.
