About to inherit about 160k
after probate I will be inheriting a serious amount of money from cash in accounts and half of house, also have money split in 2 premium bonds accounts, one maxed out, where we have been saving our deposit, we will be in the position to buy our first home outright, and in our late 50’s think is a good thing to do so we have no more rent to pay, also to secure my hubby and children’s future as I have been diagnosed with an uncurable cancer 🤷♀️ I will be putting 36k in premium bonds then we will have 2 maxed out bonds,, what do I do with the rest? I. Only have a current account (joint) I don’t work, and this money will only be in hopefully for a short time, until we find out new home, sp I need quick access account, any advise please 🙏

I'd look at the list of best buy instant access cash savings accounts... A one year bonus rate might work well for you.

Or for example a 90 day notice account?

Nothing add about the accounts. Sorry about the diagnosis, hope you are managing to enjoy life and your family despite it.

For £160k definitely don't leave it in your current account any longer than you have to. With the best savings rates you'll be losing £20 every day that money is in your current account.
