Thanks. According to the last bill:
"FreePhase Dynamic 12m v2"0 -
As you are on the current version, contact EDF and ask to get added to the trial.

I'm with E.on and until the beginning of the month was on a great 1 year fix at 38p per day SC and 22.3 per Kwh.
Best I could get after talking to them was 54p per day SC and 25p per Kwh
I am a very low user as oil heating but the trial wasn't mentioned despite my specifically saying the new SC would add around £60 to my bill.

EDF have set Electricity consumption threshold of 666 kWh - 1800 kWh per year. including free electricity kWh gained.

Is that a fixed term tariff?

Yes, however Standing Charge subject to change every 3 months in line with Ofgem's Price Cap and they can change formula for daily dynamic unit rates in April. ( Dynamic v2)

At first glance the Octopus low SC gas fix looks interesting, but of course only relative to the tariff its compared to, my current fix is almost 3p below.
The electric looks a waste of time, the reduced Sc is still a high SC.
Even worse the press quoting expected annual savings is a bit ridiculous.so someone moving from lets say 5p unit to 7.8p unit with most of SC gone even as a light user would expect to save £150? The savings are based on from a unit rate of 7.2p to 7.8p (along with some pre defined usage level).0 -
You have to use no energy vs the comparible fix at Octopus - to save the full £150.
And it looks like the threshold used were the old Ofgem low quartile TDCVs of 1800kWh E and 7500kWh G.
Which are now 1600 and 6000 respectively - so maybe more than a quarter of homes can save a little.
Use 900 kWh of electric and c3300 kWh of gas - your down to £75 etc etc.
Comparisons against the current - what had hoped until last week or so wouldn't remain anywhere as high for the Oct cap - SVT - a different matter completely.
But given we are at the mercy of the middle east once again - and another spike today as I tpye with 129p/therm - that hope of a massive drop in time for winter seems to be fading. At 129 thats up 28% on the week and 57% up on this time last year.
Why do I feel a V3 coming on if not already out ?
But ditching an old better fix now just to go low SC - a much trickier decision - who knows were Iran / USA are heading.

How do you sign up to the EDF trial?
I contacted the normal CS last week who said the team managing the trial will contact me, I've heard nothing since. I'm on Freephase Dynamic V1, will I have to change to V2?

I just e-mailed them this morning and they got back confirming they would add me to the trial. I was already on v2 if that makes a difference. It was just a regular agent who sorted it.
