Group Nexus - New Sq West Bromwich

Hi all,

I’m looking for some advice on the best way to appeal a PCN from Group Nexus for New Square, West Bromwich.

The driver shops at the Tesco there weekly and always gets the parking voucher from the till before validating the parking at the machine before leaving. On this occasion, the driver is 100% certain the parking was validated as normal, but Group Nexus have issued a PCN saying there is no record of validation.

I emailed New Square management but haven’t had a response yet.

The original Tesco receipt had been thrown away, so I went into Tesco today and spoke to the manager to see if they could help get the PCN cancelled. They said they couldn’t cancel it themselves, but they were helpful and managed to retrieve a copy of the shopping receipt for that day because it was linked to my Clubcard. They advised me to appeal directly to Group Nexus.

Given how these parking companies usually operate, is there any point appealing to Group Nexus with the Tesco receipt and explaining that the parking was validated, even though there’s no validation receipt? Or would it be better to use the standard appeal template from this forum?

Any advice appreciated.

New Square who manage the retail site responded to me today and just said "if you wish to appeal this PCN please follow the appeals process on the reverse of the PCN letter".

Totally ignoring my request for them to cancel the PCN with Group Nexus.
