Last minute flight discounts

Hi all. I wonder if anything has any flight discount codes that they are aware of?

I need to go to Australia next week for a friend who has sadly passed away and as you can imagine, the flights are expensive with booking so close and the UK school holidays starting.

Have you researched the aggregator sites and less common airlines / stopovers? Are more legs lower cost?

Yes, been looking at Skyscanner to go through all options. More legs does lower the cost for sure but want to try and keep to one stopover if possible as I won't be there that long.

Well, it is difficult. Are the routes and demand still being impacted by capacity in the Middle East being out of normal optimisation?

The Middle East situation seems to have pretty much returned to normal operations. The flights I am looking at are via Doha. I just need to get it booked really as its more important that I am there.

I think there are cheaper tickets travelling via China. Whether any saving using an indirect route is worth the longer travel time is for you to decide!

Probably fly on Sunday for a week to Perth. Looks like around £1,500 from London return although exploring Birmingham as that's much closer for me.

It is worth asking Qantas about their bereavement fares, particularly if your loss was of a family member.

Otherwise, do explore fares on Chinese airlines. The best way to buy these is probably through Trip.com (an agency with a long record as a retailer for Chinese airlines under the name Ctrip).
