Will ebay pay a refund
DaisyBella_2
I have overpaid my ebay fees by large amount (long story - don't ask). Anyway they owe me £235. Now I have received my invoice dated 31st Dec that shows a negative amount and that I don't have to pay any money (duh!).
Anway - will they give me the money back? I ceased trading just before Christmas and so will not be generating any further fees.
Should I close my account - will this trigger a refund?
I have emailed ebay but had no reply as yet.

I think a similar thing happened with me. I payed fees early (helps stay organised) but then the transaction didn't go through as the buyer backed out so I should have a got a Final value fee refund (which ended up appearing as a negative fee balance on ebay). I think the negative amount means you can list for "free" until the debt is covered. If you're not going to sell that much, get in touch with ebay customer service and they should arrange a refund for you through paypal. It's happened to me more than once and when I wanted my money back I just e-mailed them.
Hope that answers your question

You have to request a Refund
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/account/refunds.htmlRequesting a Seller Account Balance Refund
If your seller account is in credit by £1.00 or more, you can ask us to pay the balance back to you. (If your seller account is in credit, your account balance will be displayed as a negative number.) To view your account balance, go to the Seller Account page.
When will we send the refund?- For Direct Debit and credit and debit card refunds, we can only send the refund to the card or bank account we have on file for automated monthly payments. If you need to change or add a payment method, go to the Seller Account Payment Options page. Note: Direct Debit and debit card refunds are not available to eBay.ie sellers.
- For PayPal, we can send you a refund if you’ve made a payment on your eBay account using PayPal before. The payment just needs to have been greater than the refund amount and made in the last 270 days.
I would never close any eBay account, as you may need it in the future0
