These are all things on my to-do list. It's very overwhelming when this happens. I did check my Experian credit rating a few years ago and that came back as 999. I don't really use credit cards these days so wasn't so switched on to keeping an eye open.

Credit file history isn't just credit cards.
Bank accounts, mobile contracts, BNPL, energy accouns and anything that involves credit of any kind.
Also it has hard and soft searches from financial institutions.

I've worked in banking and I would go back to the bank that sold an invalid debt and get them to correct everything.
