Does Child benefit count as income?
Hello.
The Child benefit has been set up in my partners name, but I noticed on my HMRC account it shows the following for this tax year.
Under the section....
All activity on your PAYE account(current tax year)
Child Benefit of £3,268.20 added
My last two tax years have still not been finalised. I understand 25/26 is too early. But 24/25?
Looking forward to replies
Best regards

It isn't taxable income.
But the High Income Child Benefit Charge can be due for some people.
The partner with the higher adjuster net income is liable. Child Benefit itself isn't part of the adjusted net income calculation though.

Thanks for the info.
From your past advice, I have increased the amount going into pension.
I might give HMRC a call to find out why 24/25 is still not calculated.
