Bank account switch - LLoyds - Bank of Scotland

I recently did a switch from LLoyds to bank of Scotland, want ting to get the £175 reward, only after switching did Bank of Scotland tell me i don't qualify for the reward because both BoS and LLoyds are owned by the same group. they could have put a notice on their website making this clear at the time of switching and saved myself the hassles of switching. is there any recourse or is it just a learning point and to switch again soon?

Yes. Next time read the terms of the offer.

Open up another non-Lloyds/BOS current account e.g. Monzo/Revolut and switch that for the cash.

Obviously ensure you check and meet the switch T&Cs.
