Exclusive MSE British Gas Aug27 v4 deal
Anyone know where I can find the British Gas tariff rates for the MSE exclusive Aug27 v4 deal, oddly BG can't tell me.
We've just signed up for this deal after being on BG's variable tariff. We stayed with the original payment method of payment on receipt of bill for the new tariff. We are now considering changing to fixed or variable quarterly or monthly direct debit, which should be cheaper by about £150? p.a.
The only online option is to change to monthly fixed DD. The DD figure quoted includes payment for our existing bill, which is not due for another 2 weeks. This means the DD is way over the top and also appears to be based on the rates for payment on receipt of bill and not DD rates.
I phoned British Gas and they can not tell me what the DD rates are for the MSE Aug v4 tariff and I would need to sign up for DD to find out, or wait until our latest bill is generated and paid, then inquire again but that is unlikely to show the DD rates. Waiting would put us outside the 14 day cooling off period if we want to cancel if the rates could be bettered.
I can find the DD rates using the MSE Cheap Energy Club and changing the payment method but this would mean relying on third party information, which of course may not be correct..
Any help would be much appreciated

The energy club (as per most comparison sites) only gives out information based on what you feed it in the first place.
It should tell you either on the emails you had when you signed up or on the BG portal what your payments are going to be. If the projected usage is (for argument's sake) £1200 a year, then assuming you pay that every month and build up credit in the summer then that works out to nice easy £100 a month. YMMV.
Or you should have a rough idea of what you're currently paying, and if your saving £150 a year then in theory your payment should be £12.50 below what you're paying now.
Your direct debit by the way is not your bill.
(just noticed this is in the wrong forum, I've reported it for to be moved to Energy)

The energy club must get the tariff rates it shows from 3rd parties i.e. the suppliers but that is assumed on my part and, therefore, cannot be relied upon. I want to know the actual rates so I can argue the toss with BG when and if we choose direct debit. If we can't get the Aug27 v4 rates then Fuse has a deal for £96pm based on last 12 months usage but we only have a week of the cooling off period to change without penalty.
No email from BG yet and their portal only shows info based on the new tariff for quarterly payment cash, cheque, credit/debit card on receipt of bill.
Based on last 12 months actual usage the energy club says £99pm on monthly DD. BG portal want £151pm with the only option to increase it. The BG amount includes £264 for the current bill but that equates to £22 if spread over the next 12 months not £52pm. Note: can't pay the £264 until bill is raised later this month otherwise it screws up their system.
I'm aware monthly fixed DD is not the bill, however, variable monthly/quarterly DD should be the same as the bill, least ways the quarterly bill.
Thanks for getting post moved to correct section
