in Credit cards
Does anyone out there still have one of these.I got it several years ago as it was the only CC I could get in my situation then.Basically I had no choice.the interest rate went down from 25% to 15% and then up again and currently sits at 18.95-although I have now cleared the balance. I have asked re this on other threads and can't get Citi to switch me to another card-I have to open a new one and I very specifically do not want to increase my credit limit. Rang them a minute ago to try and clarify what kins of card I now had (and that hasn't been easy) and it seems it is a Classic card with absolutely no perks whatsoever other than regular cheques to cash to borrow more money and the occasional special offer-and the credit limit goes up regularly although it is neither used or requested.
I have more or less decided to dump it-largely because of the dreadful customer service but just wondered whether anyone else still had one

If it's the only CC you have then its probably best to keep it and use it regularly but pay it off in full each month... that will help maintain/ improve your credit rating.0

Thanks. It's no longer the only card I have-I followed the advice on this site and now have Egg Card/Egg Money and the Post Office card for the 10 month 0% and the overseas use. I only want a CC for internet protection-and the Citi card doesn't provide that.there is ample credit on the 3 cards which I don't want to use having spent years clawing my way back up from a pit dug by an irresponsible ex-husband. Egg are now owned by Citi I believe but the 2% off petrol offer is there (as on the Citi Shell card) and the customer service is a league away from Citi.
Trouble seems to be is that since it is now an extinct product Citi don't know where I stand either0
