The end of Virgin Media's V6 boxes question.

I'm being inundated with messages, via my V6 box and email, from VM to switch from my V6 software to 360.

I'm highly resistant to doing this after what I've read about 360's.

I'm just wondering when VM are likely to pull the plug on their V6 software? I have a contract with them until December 2027. I'm hoping I can keep on using my V6 box until then with its present functions. After then it will probably be time to say goodbye to Virgin.

How long do you think ithey've got?

Thanks.

This is exactly the sort of thing that would have been ideal to discuss on the VM Community Forum.

Shame that they killed it when they took it down to merge it with the O2 Community Forum six months ago, a project about which anyone with any knowledge of similar database mergers would have said "don't".

There was so much negativity about 360's to be read on the VM Community Forum.

    Disappeared into the ether now.

You may find you have access to less and less apps as the licenses & certificates are all running out (including for the TiVo software), it'll be about 12 months from what I can see before they force the upgrade on you. Somewhere in the T&C's they'll be covered to do this BTW, so if you really hate the thought of the 360 software don't go renewing your contract.

I made the switch to 360 a few months ago. Honestly, it's bob on. Only issue we've had is when our BB had some issues we struggled to access some of our recordings. Other than that, 360 is miles better. We have a Tivo box.
