Euro Car Parks PCN Late return -Charged!

I had paid for a 4hr time slot on my phone by credit card. But I exited out of the Euro Car Parks Multistory carpark at 4hrs 29min . I have been issued with a PCN of £100 . The discount reduction day in in 2 days (3rd July '26!) Full payment due day is 17/07/26 .Can I contest this since I think this was harsh since i was loading items from a function we were organising next door at the Theatre.

The Contravention states: " The vehicle was parked without a valid pay by phone transaction .
The letter contains corrects image of my car entering and leaving .
How do i contest this & with what evidence

It seems that you didn't pay for every minute on that private property, a pay & display car park, so you probably should have paid for an extra hour, or pay for 5 or more hours

I dont believe that you could formulate or win any appeal

Probably easier to fight a future Money Claim where they discontinue before the hearing fee is due with your local civil court

As long as you don't move house, just await the DCB Legal LBC and Claim Form because they ALWAYS discontinue cases.

    Nobody pays a penny.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It is not 29 mins because my payment on my card was 4 mins later . I understand there is an official grace period between entering and leaving the car park ? so i was loading and unloading from a theatre event next door - i still think 15 min is harsh !

A free consideration period ( not grace period ) occurs after the driver enters the car park, but if they accept the terms and conditions on the signs, the start time is when ANPR captured the entry and the free consideration period is cancelled

On a pay and display car park, the full period from entry to exit is calculated, so entry time to exit time, and the payment must cover the full period, except that normally the driver gets a minimum of 10 minutes grace period to exit the car park after the end of an authorised parking period , so 250 minutes in your case above,, so unpaid time occurred , a minimum of 19 minutes

You dont get 2 bites of the cherry, one each end, you got 10 minutes after 240 paid minutes on site, regardless of the distance between the private car park and the venue

Probably better to unload and load at the venue, on yellow lines if necessary, then move the vehicle etc ( been there, done that. )

Feel free to download and read the current Joint Code of Practice from the BPA website

As its currently an unregulated industry, it is what it is, fair or unfair

So better and easier to fight a future court claim ( overpaying definitely works with pay on entry car parks. )

Which is why you do not pay and we've told you what to do.
