Morning all, thanks @Gers.
Yesterday's forecast rain didn't arrive until early evening and it was for only about 45 mins, quite steady admittedly, but the rest of the day turned out to be very pleasant. We're told there's a 30% chance of rain just after lunchtime, otherwise expect a day of sunny intervals. I'm with others on here - just look out of the window and decide for yourself!
My hairdresser was a bit scissor happy yesterday but it's not a disaster as it grows quickly. I may be glad of it if the promised high temperatures return next week. I didn't bother going into town for the foot cream; I want to have a think if there's anything else I need as it seems a waste of a journey for just one item. Instead, I got off the bus home a couple of stops earlier and had a mooch around the charity shops. I bought just one thing from the Hospice shop, a plain knee-length black skirt for 99p, but the other shops had nothing that appealed - in fact much of it was expensive tat. I also nipped into the print/stationery shop for a roll of parcel tape. Such an exciting life!
It's my birthday today and I'm wondering how I got to 77. No plans to mark the day but, as it will be DS's birthday next week, we're thinking of going to one of the local hostelries for a pub lunch one day. That will be dependent on if/when he's working - yes, he's secured another trade plate driver job that he started yesterday. It wouldn't be my choice with all that driving around the country but I'm not the one doing it. I have my fingers and everything else crossed it won't turn out to be yet another disappointment for him. Tea tonight is a h/m fish pie courtesy of the freezer.
@Izzy - I'm with your hubby - take the free cruise! Your friend should be able to make alternative arrangements between now and next May.
@remmie - So glad you've been discharged from the eye clinic. I know these follow-ups are necessary but they're not much fun, especially when they're in out of the way places.
Have a good day all whatever you have planned, take care. Thinking of the poorly and MIA. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
Happy birthday @YorksLass enjoy your day whatever you do, and hope DS's job works out x

Happy Birthday YorksLass whatever you get up to. I hope there is cake involved too. You are catching me up!!
Whoever "tried" to clean the glass on the aforementioned outdoor table didn't try very hard. A good scrub with a bicarb and white vinegar mix has shifted the rust stain in no time. The chairs could do with new seat pads which should easily be available in Dunelm when I can make the effort to get down there. I'm not forking out for postage on them when I can go down on the bus for nothing!

Thanks Gers. I know ,July already!
Happy Birthday @YorksLass , have a good day whatever you do, and good luck for DS job.
Had my sm delivery, had a months free pass from Mr Ms which expires soon so thought I'd get it ordered. Ordered 2 salmon fillets, had to check there were 2 in they were so narrow but to be fair they were part of a 3 for £10 deal so I suppose they won't be massive , I've got 2 normal sized in the freezer so if I get them out they'll do the 3 of us. DH has been to buy s'thg DS2 needed and is now taking it up, he's taken a sandwich and flask with him, so I might sit in peace and watch my soaps 🤣
Well done on cleaning the table TA!
Remmie glad you got discharged from the eye clinic and it's settled down.
Izzy, you can't turn down a free cruise but I understand how you feel.
We'll probably have an early tea because of the England match, hope we enjoy it @Chrisca50 !
Take care all.
