Best sole trader account to switch from Santander

Looking for advise on changing my business account & credit card from Santander due to them now charging 9.99 monthly fee and for that seeming to give a poorer service including sending statements 3 weeks late.

Sole trader, approx 40-50,000 turnover, no cash deposits, basically just a credit card & a few direct debits that all get paid when due.

Is it a similar switching system to current accounts or more complex with having a number of different clients paying invoices each month?

Any deals better than others?

switch service can apply to small business accounts as long as both banks subscribe to it.

Who do you do your personal banking with? Do you want to keep it together, separate or dont care?

We've used HSBC for years, started free, went to fees, now back to free again. (standing charge, there are charges for cash etc).

Personally had intended to switch to Starling as like their current account product, you probably need a personal account with them (can be unused) before getting a business one but that might have changed. Didn't like Barclays when tried them as they have a shared view so would see my company's account when checking my personal account

Personal banking is also Santander but I cant see any real benefit in keeping them together as the business account is mainly somewhere for clients to pay into & for 120.00 per year it no longer looks a good deal

We used Starling for a sole trader and later a limited company account. Much better app than Santander and banking is free.
