partly used ticket with incorrect name
I wish to modify my sister's name for her Emirates return to Manila. Emirates say this is not allowed, because the ticket is partly used. The ticket is partly used, because the name modification did not take place, at Emirates checkin desk in Manila. If checkin had been correctly carried out, the name error would have been done spotted. The name modification would have then been allowed and the present situation would not have arisen. On my sister's flight to Munich, this was not a problem for KLM to handle.Helpplease

If two flights have successfully taken place, why do you need a name change for the third flight?

What's the nature of the name correction? Is it a minor typo or has she married/divorced during her trip?
If her ticket doesn't match her passport and this has been acceptable to checkin staff thus far, on what basis does she believe it's going to be a problem on the final leg?

If she has married/divorced during a trip surely it would be a bit foolish to change your passport if you still have live flight bookings, so cant be that surely.

Yes, agree it's unlikely, but I was just wondering if there's any documentation supporting an actual name change, or if it was just a mistake made by whoever booked the ticket.

On the second flight, KLM changed the name at check in. She is worried that she might be denied boarding.

Her name consists of 5 words, the last name, her surname was omitted. Some how this went unnoticed at check in for the first flight. The third and fourth words are actually her maiden surname. She has been married for 46 years, so her name change is not recent.

So on one flight the name discrepancy wasn't an issue, on the next flight it was noted and fixed (again no issue), why do you think it will be an issue on the third flight? In all likelihood one of those two scenarios will happen again.

Has she used all five words when booking with this airline before? I don't know what the convention is but would imagine that there must be some sort of limit…
