Coop packaged bank account
I looked hard for a packaged bank account, struggled to get one that suited, and eventually settled on the Coop.
I've just had an email to say that they are reducing the cost to £12 a month from £18, and they've increased the family coverage for mobile phones.
They've also removed currency conversion charges for debit cards - I presume only on the packaged account.
So all-in-all a decent upgrade - the competition must have been getting to them….

The removal of the currency conversion charges for debit cards applies to all Co-op bank accounts, not just packaged ones

Hmmm
We have a joint Nationwide FlexPlus account mainly for the Travel Insurance. Mid/late 70s couple with pre existing medical conditions. We renewed our upgrade a couple of weeks ago but I’ll check for comparison as that’s quite a saving.
Maybe Nationwide will follow suit if swathes of its ageing customers switch to Co-op🤞🏻

Not sure if I've read it right, but it sounds like only the account holder is covered unless you open a joint account.

Packaged bank accounts all have gotchas, its important to check the cover available and make sure it covers what you need. We opened a joint account, which is the same price and covers us both.
Even with a single account, spouses/ partners are covered for travel insurance if travelling with you.
Breakdown cover requires the policyholder to be travelling in it, but covers any vehicle, which is usually more expensive than a single vehicle policy. The big bonus for me here is that it covers Europe as well as UK.
Phone cover has just been extended to cover family members - staying at the same address. I've never claimed on phone insurance, and don't really value it, but it is thrown in.
The package was saving me around £400 a year for travel and breakdown cover - before the price drop.
