I started solo travelling at that age and been doing it ever since. The first place I went was Northern California - San Francisco, Carmel and Monterey, and then up through the wine country to Yosemite national Park. Fantastic holiday 😁

Thank you for this advice. We've not thought of these destinations so will take a look.

That sounds amazing. I went to Canada for a month, travelling all over but Jasper International Park was my favourite part. Thanks for sharing your experience.

That's a horrible experience, I feel for you. I'm pleased you're still travelling. I hope my daughter does find her holiday soon.

TUI were quite pushy. There is an independent in the next town so that would be a good idea, thanks. She will have adequate insurance.

- What would she like to do? Maybe think about some of these questions…
- Go as part of an organised group vs Go on her own? Book a package vs book independently?
- All accomodation prebooked vs sort out accomodation when she gets there?
- Stay in 1 place vs tour about?
- Traveling about when she gets there - Use public transport vs hire a car vs walking / cycling tour vs cruise vs….?
- Shared accommodation e.g. dorms vs own room?
- Accommodation - basic vs luxury?
- Food - roome only vs B&B vs half board vs full board vs all inclusive?
- Country / beach / mountains / city / culture / nightlife / adventure / …?
- What are her "must haves"?
- What is her budget?
- How long does she want to go for?
- If abroad where would she fly / travel from and what destinations are there available?
- What temperature would she find too hot or too cold?
- If flying - how long a flight is OK?

I normally hate All Inclusive, its such a waste of being abroad to me, but she may find the not having to budget for drinks etc better… know more than one young traveller who've overspent day/night 1-2 and then been forced to an impoverished existence for the rest of the trip.
Benidorm anyone?
