Wing Security - ZZPS

Hello all,

Apologies as I've been asked to make a new thread to make things less confusing.

So the brief is I'm not the driver/owner for the vehicle had a residential permit to park in a residential area, displayed a blue badge but got the PCN from Wing Security and was asked to help appeal so I did from my email and unfortunately gave the driver/owner details that way. I know now that was a massive no no.

No surprises the appeal was rejected because I'm not the driver/owner so I tried looking for information online and found the newbie must read thread. Very helpful but overwhelming cos I honestly have no clue what Im doing and pressure from the driver (vulnerable adult) so from what I thought I understood was to ignore them so I did.

Then the driver got a letter from ZZPS and panicked and I advised to follow forum advice which is to ignore them because they are not regulated and the issue is directly with Wing Security anyway as the ticket issuer.

Only thing is the letters keep coming and now using threatening language that they'll get their heavies involved (solicitors) and mentioning ruined credit and court action. I've asked for copies of the latest ones which I'll attached here.

Am I on the right track and wait it out till court since ZZPS (or Wing Security) want it to get there? Im not sure what to do if the solicitors get involved do I ignore them too? Or is there anything else to be done before then, such as the driver contacting Wing Security since they've not appealed directly themselves and only received comms from ZZPS?

Yes you are on the right track , ignore them both, ZZPS can't do anything

If they tried a Money Claim, we will help you through it, so ignore the powerless debt collectors and their threats

Wing can't get DVLA data. You do NOT appeal and hand over your data to non-AOS members! Oh dear.

"I was asked to help appeal so I did from my email and unfortunately gave the driver/owner details that way. I know now that was a massive no no."

    Yep. Big mistake.

Really helping the person would have been Googling Wing, finding out they aren't in the BPA or IPC and then telling the motorist to totally ignore the windscreen 'ticket' which had as much clout as a Burger King flyer.

"Am I on the right track and wait it out till court?"

    Yes.

Read post 4 then post 2 of NEWBIES PLEASE READ TGESE FAQS FIRST.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you so much for the reassurance. Just a lot of pressure for me to support as the owner is wanting to pay since day one but I informed them about this forum so that's the only thing backing what I'm telling them.

Amazing, thanks so much for the support truly grateful. If it was my own issue it's a no brainer but when you hoping someone else it's more worrisome so you don't make anymore mistakes.

    I'll re-read post 4 then 2 again 😊.

In future, no naming people or their actions, never be tempted to explain, helping someone is only good if the advice being given is sound

Private Parking companies should be treated as hostile, never help the enemy

Also remember that unless the parking company has evidence showing the driver, they don't know who was driving.

Usually they write to the Registered Keeper, who may or may not be the owner and may or may not be the driver.

Always write to a parking company as the Registered Keeper, if it is in response to a windscreen notice, the driver passes the notice to the keeper, if necessary from one hand to the other ;)

Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'

Honestly can't say I remember what the appeal said because the webform doesn't show once sent but they had the other person's contact details hence why the ZZPS letters were sent.

However, from what you've explained it makes sense the onus is on them to prove who was actually driving, registered keeper or not.

Something new learnt every day, at this rate I won't be simple for long hahaha.
