GARDENING EXPRESS

I have just received my order from Gardening express and have to say they are a waste of money - when I tried to send them back they have refused to send a label.

This happened last year and most of the plants have died. I have cancelled my account and realise that you get what you pay for. If you go for this CHEAP DEAL on plants then expect the worst!! Home Bargains have lovely plants, healthy and much cheaper than Gardening Express.

This is an inherent problem of ordering plants online. In a shop you can see the actual plants you're buying and will pass on those looking a bit dodgy.. Online you're reliant on the picker and the quality of the delivery service to ensure the plants arrive in good condition.

I've personally generally had good experiences when ordering plants online. But I've never used GE

I have had some good deals online, with healthy plants and good customer service. But I use T&M and Parkers. I have always avoided GE.

Welcome to MSE, unfortunately too late for you to found out what many on here already knew. There are many threads with similar experiences as yours, but at least you now know about GE

    Welcome to the Forum.

I asked AI specifically about independent reviews. Took about a minute.

Independent reviews are poor overall. On REVIEWS.io, Gardening Express is rated 1.2/5, with only 3–5% of reviewers recommending them depending on the listing size. The recurring complaints are delayed delivery, plants arriving damaged or dead, poor packaging, and very weak customer service. There are also forum posts describing refund/dispute problems and claims of unresponsive support. reviews.io

I'd suggest everyone does this. After all, would you buy from an eBayer with similar feedback?

Never believe anything until it's officially denied.

Anyone wanting NOT CHEAP but quality plants, Farmer Gracy has free P & P today [27 June], use code FRSH.

I have no connection or bungs involved, but have just ordered some daffs & Day Lilies

Another vote for Farmer Gracy. Huge selection of bulbs and plants, always received in top class condition.

Thanks for code - will use it today!

Not sure I've heard of GE before coming here. Bought a grape vine & plumcot from Chris Bowers a while back. The vine turned out to be dead on arrival, but CB insisted on giving it a few months before agreeing to a refund. Then the following year, the plumcot bore a single fruit. Only it wasn't a plumcot, rather a apricot. All due credit to CB, they dispatched a potted plumcot within a few days of the conversation.

At this time of year, I would only buy potted plants. Bare rooted from November to April only.

I've had mixed results from Farmer Gracy, but to be fair they will refund failures. There's often offers and discounts.
