N1 form received (DCB Legal - Bank Park Management

Hi all,

Ive really treid to look into this myself but I'm just so confused and overwhelmed. My mum received a fine from Bank Park Management for not paying in a P&D car park. She is elderly and just didnt realise it was one you have to pay for. Ive been to her house a few days ago and found tons of letters that she never told me about with the fdinal one being an N1 Court form.

Is this too late to realistically win? Shes not going to be able to fight it in court in person if theres a high chance of that. The Issue date was 10th June 2026 but form what I understand you have 14 days from the the date of service to contest and the date of service is 5 days after the issue date meaning its still in the timeframe.

Any help would be so appreciated, I have tons of my own things going on an 9 month old so its all overwhelming me. Shes saying she just wants to pay the £270ish but I'm reluctant to give these people money

Thanks in advance

Still time, not to appeal but to submit a defence. With an issue date of 10/06/26 and providing you complete(d) the AoS before or on 29/06/26 your defence deadline date is 4.00 p.m. on 13/07/26

Your Mum (or you helping her) will need to, if she doesn't' have one, obtain a Government Gateway account and then submit the AoS before 29/06/26, which gives you an extra 14 days to submit a defence using the template defence found in the stickies

No chance of losing and no hearings happen!

Thank goodness you found the Claim Form in time as this is urgent but easy.

Defend it in her name using the Template Defence, follow the 8 steps, put YOUR PHONE NUMBER on the N180 (in due course) and your name down to take the Mediation call. Make no offers.

They then 100% discontinue before the hearing fee is due. Scam over by the Winter.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi @Coupon-mad and thankyou for the previous advice. I submitted the AoS as you explained in time and have been so busy ive stupidly left this to the last second to submit the defence (today by 4pm).

Im just looking at the steps in the newbies thread and have the template defence up. So from what i understand i need to edit para 3 to suit my mums defence. Issue is that as she just didnt pay (elderly and didnt even realise you had to) so I dont really know what I can put in there. How can I make a defence when she just didnt pay making this process futile?

DCB Legal are the company named on the court paperwork

    TIA for any help

Post a redacted picture of her POC from the lower left of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first, because we don't know what the allegation is

I would suggest that she uses paragraphs 1 & 2 and 4 to 10 unchanged

Adapt the following copy and paste from another defence on here as her paragraph 3

3 Referring to the POC: paragraph 1 is denied. The Defendant is not indebted to the Claimant. Paragraph 2 is denied. The Defendant does not accept that a contravention occurred on xx/xx/202x, as alleged. Whilst the Defendant is the registered keeper, paragraphs 3 and 4 are denied. The Defendant is not liable and has seen no evidence of a breach of prominent terms. The quantum is hugely exaggerated (no PCN can be £170 on private land) and there were no damages incurred whatsoever.

    Hi,

Thankyou so much for the quick response @Gr1pr . I have attached a picture of the PoC so hopefully this helps.

So just so i dont get this wrong, i copy and paste into the defence on MCOL all the paragraphs exactly as they are except for paragraph 3. For that i just input what you have done above but include the correct date?

Im so grateful for any help.

That seems correct to me, unless you get any other replies giving different recommendations

    Ok, thanks again!. I will wait to see if anyone else says something different in the next couple of hours before i have to submit. The only thing i dont get is how in the para 3 you mentioned it says;

Paragraph 2 is denied. The Defendant does not accept that a contravention occurred on xx/xx/202x, as alleged.

I dont fully understand how i make this claim when they have her on camera entering and exiting without buying a ticket?

Also, dont i need to add the "and driver" part to the end of para 2?

Thats why I mentioned adapting it to suit the allegation, I never said that it was to be used verbatim

It was to give you a substantial start in regards to her paragraph 3, instead of you trying to write it from scratch

I also mentioned waiting for other replies, especially about that sentence

By all means add " and driver " to the end of paragraph 2, if true

They definitely don't "have her" on camera, they monitor vehicle movements, not people movements

    Understood, thanks again!

Unfortunately it seems she has lost her password for the MCOL/Gov Gateway login and the reset email doesnt come through despite repeated requests so i dont think we will have time to even submit the defence.

A real shame as I was hoping to avoid lining their pockets.

In that case it will need to be emailed as an attachment instead, ( old school. ) instead to claimresponses as shown in the 1st post in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum

    But

She will have to add a header and a footer and sign and date it with an e signature, saved as a docx, then save as to save it in pdf format

It cannot be an unsigned, undated defence ( by email )
