Hi all and thanks for the start @Gers x Glad you have a date for the procedure x
I haven't been around this week due to Daddy Day Care and work. DDad and I went to London yesterday to an exhibition and got a taxi from the station as just too hot and busy to walk there. Today we are going to the local town as it's market day plus there's a few antique centres to browse in.
I finally have an appointment with ENT for my deafness - not until 3 August (referral from October) but at least it's in the diary.
Sorry to read of DS's work woes @YorksLass - I hope the DWP can provide some help and hopefully some money to tide him over. I signed on for 9 weeks last year and the fortnightly appointments were butt-clenching but it helped financially at least.
Hope you're okay @camelot1001 - has anything been decided with your workplace?
It's pork chops, rice and green beans for dinner later. We've been eating later due to the heat. Will probably watch whatever football is on too as DDad likes to be a sofa pundit 🙄
Have a good day all
Coxy

Morning all, another hot one, my laptop says 28. We had a thunderstorm during the night and about 10 minutes of rain, DH informed me - I didn't hear it. I still did next doors garden early on but I think the neighbours on the other side will take over if needed as they come back from a trip to Wales today.
I've done my housework for today early. The shower really needed a good clean after sometimes 2 showers a day for the 3 of us. The water here soon discolours the base. No more though apart from doing tea which will be a stir fry.
Just going to read my kindle and take it easy for a bit :) Bye for now ☺️

Afternoon all, thanks for the start @Gers.
We had overnight thunder and some quite heavy rain that started around 4 am so it did feel pleasantly cool when I got up but, knowing it was going to be a hot one again, I've done things in a different order today, hence the late post.
This morning I walked up to the Co-op (very slowly 😁) for the bits and bobs I needed and was disappointed to find they didn't have any strawberries. Not to worry, I've unearthed a forgotten half bag of raspberries from the freezer instead. Their frozen food cabinets were devoid of ice cream etc too but I have a full freezer I can raid. When I got back home I gave the bathroom a swish and swipe, made the beds and did a general tidy round before lunch that I had sitting outside in the shade. When it got too hot (30 deg+) I came back inside to do the Friday admin followed by a nap. Now I'm done for the day, apart from making tonight's meal that will be a fake-away chippy tea - done in the air fryer, of course. 😉 I think the thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon have bypassed us.
@Coxy - Thanks, DS is getting some financial help (not much but better than nothing) but, because he's had some brief spells of work recently, they're going to claw some back. That's fair enough, he doesn't want to claim anything he's not entitled to and did declare his earnings, but trying to find out how much and when is like trying to get blood out of a stone. 🙄 His appointment yesterday at the Job Centre turned out to be a non-event, more of a tick box exercise for them but precious little help for him. 😕
@Gers - Good to hear you now have an appointment date for your op; hopefully they will have the replacement part by then.
@TA - Oh my, your DD's a brave woman volunteering for that!
Right, I'm off for a shower (second one of the day) although I don't expect to feel any cooler! Take it easy folks, drink plenty of water, stay in the shade and forget the housework for now. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.7
