Virgin Credit Card £40 off virgin media

Hi,
I found a link ( http://uk.virginmoney.com/media/) which says you can get £40 cashback off your virgin media account if you take out a credit card with them.
Do you think they would give me it now as I've only just found the offer, I took out my credit card on the 21st December.
Just phoned 150 but really couldn't be bothered trying to explain it to someone in India so I'll wait till tommorow.

Was the offer even running on 21st December last year?
Someone else persevered with the call centre, and was told they couldn't get it on a card they had *already* applied for:
