Giving closed ended land fund to charity
My late mother invested in a closed-ended land fund with Stirling Mortimer. Now that her estate has been finalised, my brother and I have the option of transferring it into our names. However, neither of us wants it, as a closed ended investment is just a complication for us rather than a benefit.
It makes sense to donate it to a charity, but we're not sure how to go about it, or whether any charity would want it.
Has anyone done anything like this? Was it easy?

Did you try ShareGift?

I went on the Share Gift website about half an hour ago, but it didn't give me any information as to whether a closed-ended fund would be accepted. It just led me straight to the donation form without any information or guidance. But I'm going to try to get in touch with them tomorrow, during office hours.
I'm interested in how others have done this though.
