Appealing APCOA ticket but delayed payment

Hi,
(I have read the forum's newbies thread)
I recieved the APCOA parking charge letter for luton airport. It was the standard one addressed to keeper.

I actually paid for the parking as I normally do with this car, however this time i was not able to pay until approx 2 days after the drop off as I had no data the first full day i landed. this means my payment was after the deadline they set in their 'terms' which is midnight the day after drop off, i therefore missed it and in the payment screen i chose a parking time slot that was several hours after the actual time i was dropped off. then came the charge letter a week later

My questions are:
1. Should I appeal it on the grounds I still paid but late due to having no phone service when I landed? (they should be able to see the payment in their system if i tell them the registration and date i paid) Or are APCOA scummy enough to try follow through with the charge due to their 'terms'?
2. Most importantly; If I do appeal and they reject it will that affect my ability to defend myseld and then send them the templated email in the forum's sticky message as payment might be 'proof' I am aware of who the driver is 'I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreementetc.'

Find the group thread for airport drop off issues, I think it starts with Heathrow/Gatwick

Or use the one in the Manchester Airport threads, anything within the last 8 months, as keeper

No blabbing about who was driving or about what happened

    Obviously not..

That would bin the winning point of no keeper liability. Why are you planning on ruining the winning appeal (see the Airport Group thread) by appealing as driver first?

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
