Problem accessing Google Play Store

I have a problem accessing the Google Play Store from my Samsung mobile (A22 5G named as Kevin's A22 5G). During my recent trip to China I was using my Google Apps fine using a VPN (note I have traveled to China for several months over the past few years without trouble). I just returned to UK on Monday.

At the end of April my bank app required updating. On opening the Play Store I was greeted with the message to authenticate my account. Following their instructions I received 2 separate codes to enter when I accessed the google account website(https://accounts.google.com). However, on doing this I was instructed to reset my google account password instead. Instead of updating the account on my existing phone name it created a new, separate phone name (SM -226B the phones sub model name with the same IMEI number as the original Kevin's A22).

Using my tablet to try to locate my phone. It shows the original Kevin's A22 was last seen the day before changing password and SM 226B from date of change but neither can be located. Now my phone or I don't know how to open my play store. At the moment on opening play store I see 32 apps incl system apps need updating but attempts to update prompt message to try again when online. Note I can still open some apps and can access the internet without problem.

Can anyone suggest a way of fixing this problem without having to factory reset.
