You need to be a bit more specific about the exact source of the lump sum death benefit and your husband's age when the benefit was triggered - see guidance below
How exactly did the death benefit trustees describe what they paid to you? Was it pursuant to an expression of wish direction from your husband that named you as his sole beneficiary?

The estate is 100% exempt you do not really need to use the IHT checker, just include the payout as part of his estate for probate valuations.

@poseidon1 My husband dies before the age of 75. There is an expression of wish naming me as the beneficiary. The death grant payment is entirely at the discretion of the pension trustee.

Because the lump sum was paid at trustee discretion then it doesn't fall into his estate.

I agree, its not to be included when reporting the extent of the estate for probate purposes.
