British Gas tariff with Cheaper Energy Club
I've been trying to switch my BG tariff to the British Gas 15% cheaper through the Cheap Energy Club. It's not accepting my meter numbers that I have copied from my statement. The numbers contain letter and numbers and the site won't accept them. What can I do please? Also has anyone any thoughts on the E-on Next Smart Saver with off peak rates?

Meter reference numbers, or meter readings?

Meter reference number. I took the E off for electricity but then it starts 6S………. If I take the S out there aren't enough numbers. I've just contacted British Gas for help, hopefully they can give me the correct numbers.

Regarding Eon Next Smart Saver I’ve averaged 18.5p per kWh in the 2 months I’ve been on it. It depends when you use electricity and if you can load shift. For example we set the washing machine to take advantage of super cheap rates overnight and avoid non essential use during peak 4-7pm. We usually do cook the evening meal though at that time. Currently the V32 version is almost identical as the V20 version I’m on. The Standing Charge is high so factor that in.
Also Eon run a Power Up offer where they pay you to use extra electricity at certain times in the day. I’ve earned an extra £25 off my bill over the last couple of months.1 -
Standing Charge E-on Next Smart Saver not high for all regions, version I signed up to SC was same as price cap, current V32 SC is approx 1.5p per day below price cap. ( North West Region) which is cheaper than Octopus Energy SC for that region.

Apparently the numbers I have aren't the MPAN and MPRN that I need. Taking ages with British Gas, they need verification of who I am and verification from my bank. It's taking ages, by the time I sort it all out the offer will have closed. So much for Tech making life easier.

Well, just when I thought I couldn't get any more stupid, I have. When I logged on to the Cheap Energy Club they had all my British Gas details. When it asked for the MPAN number it had a number by the side with the choice to edit, so I though that number was just a sample and I'd have to find my number myself. It's taken me nearly all morning to find the number they wanted only to find out when I was filling in the form again, that the number displayed was my MPAN and the MPRN. I need a rest, lol

Sounds as though you've sorted it out now!
(The number beginning E6S is probably the serial number of your meter. It should match the one printed on the front of your meter.)

Something's not right here. The Fixed Aug27 Exclusive v4 in the newsletter isn't the same as the one being offered when you click through the deal finder.

SC and UR shown by MSE are average rates across all regions of UK, Also your British Gas quote reflects payment by Quarterly Cash/Cheque which is dearer. than paying by monthly DD.
