Morning all, thanks for today's thread start @Scarlet.
Today's forecast says to expect sunny intervals so it may be a little bit cloudy and/or hazy at times but temperatures are already climbing and we could get up to 32 deg. The sun doesn't reach any part of my house until lunchtime so it's lovely and cool inside at the moment, after that it will be like an oven and way out of my comfort zone. 😳
I'm not looking forward to today as it would have been my DH's 85th birthday, the second one without him, and even though we didn't really celebrate birthdays in our later years (beyond birthday wishes, a kiss and a card) I'm finding it harder this year than last. DS is also down in the dumps as his week's job trial hasn't resulted in permanent employment so it's back to the drawing board for him; at least he's been paid though. Cue for a song: Things can only get better. 🤞
I think I'll keep myself occupied with some gentle pottering around the house today and hope there are no other niggles that might upset the apple cart because it wouldn't take much to send me into a meltdown. 😟 Tea tonight is a risotto and there are cornets in the freezer for afters.
@Ruby - The cinema might seem a strange choice of venue on a hot day but it could be an inspired one!
@camelot - I hope today's job meeting isn't too nerve wracking or depressing.
@Gers - The elderflower syrup looks very tempting for this weather; I can't see any reason why it wouldn't freeze.
@dp1 - Good news on the quick house sale. Enjoy the school sports day this afternoon.
Hugs and sympathy for those struggling with the heat, lack of sleep, aches and pains or whatever else is giving you a hard time. Good luck for a successful result for the night owls watching the footie. Take care, stay hydrated. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.9
