Vinted - notification of a sale.
I have an item listed & got an offer made. I priced knowing full well people on Vinted seem to be cheekier than other platforms but this person was extra cheeky.
I was alerted of this via a Vinted notification on my phone home screen.
I declined their offer & thought ok let's meet in the middle & never heard from them again, or so I thought.
Last night I thought I'd have a look & see if the exchange said something like "bidder left the chat" (I still don't know how Vinted works properly yet) & to my surprise saw it was asking me to post the item off & download the label.
I thought I better check my emails to see if this is legit because I'd had nothing. Sure enough at almost 1am I got an email saying about the sale & to post it off.
I'm guessing that email got bunched up in my email notifications with a load of junk & when I just swiped to clear it I ended up including that one in the swipe also.
But there was no follow up notification from Vinted to say along the lines of - buyer has accepted your counter, you now need to post it off. It was only because I was curious if Vinted was like Facebook & said something like bidder has left the chat that I actually found out. Else who knows when or if I'd have noticed it.
Should Vinted be notifying me in this scenario? Is there some option I should be selecting that I haven't?
I just thought it strange that I get the initial contact saying offer made but then no follow up.
EDITING TO ADD…As a seller what's your experience with buyers in terms of communication?
So I sell an item, I'll always then contact & say thanks & that I intend to post it on X-date. With circumstances at the moment there's not really anything that's going to get in the way of that so if I say 23rd of June then it'll actually be that.
Once posted I'll then follow up to say - just posted it off, should be in with today's collection and be with you soon.
Just basic communication that costs me nothing & hopefully comes across to the buyer as this guy isn't too bad kind of thing.
I've only sold 3 or 4 items so far as I'm new to it but not once have I had a response saying anything like ok, thanks etc. In fact aside from someone who wanted to clarify my item was for the model I stated, even though the title gave the model number, I've not had anyone actually SAY anything outside of making an offer & paying.
If I'd had that contact in reverse then I'd say thanks for the update or something.
Maybe it's just me.

My experience is similar to yours and am also new to it, haven't had anyone make a counter offer but priced my items expecting it, I have had a couple of queries, like you, things that were included in my listing. There doesn't seem to be any thanks for answering/posting etc.
Maybe we are just too polite for it!

Notifications can occasionally be a bit hit and miss on Vinted, best practice is to make a habit of checking your sold page as anything that has been paid for but not sent will show up in red. Otherwise all the messages, notifications etc just show up in one place , your inbox.

Thanks. That's what I'll have to do in future then. Not a problem, just so I now know not to rely on notifications.
