Mis-Match on Credit report.
Through no fault of my own, my credit file has been incorrectly matched with someone elses' account. It has since spread across 18 separate lenders, banks, and store card providers. As a result, I am now incorrectly associated with approximately £100,000 of debt belonging to someone else, whose credit profile is significantly different from my own.
Once I raised the issue with Experian it was acknowledged and an investigation was opened. However, I have was advised that the process may take up to 28 days to resolve, it has since been removed. While I understand investigations still ongoing, the impact on me has been immediate and significant. During this period, my mortgage application has been declined due to information that is entirely inaccurate. It's still declining now as it can take up to 28 days for lenders to 'view the updated version'
What has made this even more frustrating is that Equifax was able to correct the issue on their records within 48 hours, which makes the projected 28-day wait feel particularly difficult to accept given the consequences I am facing.
I was told to speak to each individual lender at times, which was exhausting repeating the same story, Experian are now suggesting its 50% mis match, 50% identity fraud yet, no lenders have my name or my address. I feel like this is a significant error, but I just feel lost where I'm meant to complain to, experian have already tried to re direct the complaint to whoever made the initial mis-match.

Do I understand that the issue has now been rectified with both Equifax and Experian but that your concern is the length of time that it will take for Experian to update your records?
Assume that the erroneous reporting did not impact TransUnion?
