Vietnam and Cambodia
Hi, I’m looking for some help to book accommodation in Siem Reap and Hoi An over a 6 week period in December, covering Xmas and all of January.
We’ve booked our flights arriving into and returning from Siem Reap. We are due to arrive in the evening in Siem Reap and have yet to decide how long we want to stay there before moving to Hoi An.
We have decided to stay in apartments rather than hotels for ease of having more space etc but other than Air BnB, can anyone suggest sites we can look at for accommodation?
My thoughts so far are to look at staying in an hotel on arrival in Siem Reap for 3/4 days to see us through the xmas period and then move on, again, suggestions are welcome for a decent hotel in a good location that’s up to about £100 per night but preferably less.
When we get to Hoi An, should we look at staying by a beach or close to the old town or somewhere in between? We’ve been to Hoi An before but just had 3 days on an organised tour so we didn’t visit the beach areas and our hotel was chosen for us.
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

We stayed here just after new year in 2016 (not a typo!) - had a fabulous roof top pool which was always empty during the late morning / early afternoons as everyone else was sightseeing & great happy hour deals at the bar next to it (hic!)
We chose it last minute and I think back them it was under £50 / night
ETA - great location, 2 minute walk to the centre, but quiet
We still talk about that hotel & would def stay there again if we went back
Also went to Hoi An mid Feb 2016 for a few days - we stayed out of town & it was a faff getting anywhere, wished we stayed in or very close to the old town

thank you, that’s really useful and I appreciate you taking the time to message me.
We went to Hoi An and Siem Reap last year but it was an organised tour so we didn’t choose the hotels. This time we’re doing it independently and there’s an overwhelming choice but we have time to choose, thanks again2 -
We stayed at The Jungle on Night Market Street earlier this year. (Sorry, can't post links yet!)
Could not fault it. On Night Market street, less than a 10 min walk to Pub Street.
