Morning all
Yes it's hot, that's all I'll say about it.
Watered the garden - currently battling a family of five magpies, with three greedy 'teenagers', the parents are using the soft fruit as a larder - along with an errant squirrel we might be short on the berries this year!
Enjoyed a walk by the river early doors and amazed at the number of butterflies and damselflies - just about to do my nature journal and try and do some ID! Stoat in the garden yesterday which was a surprise.
Take care all and stay cool if you need to

Afternoon all, thanks for the start @Gers.
Yesterday was lovely weather (no rain) but this morning started off cloudy. The sun eventually appeared around 11 am and it's now comfortably warm with a gentle breeze. I thought I'd finished all the laundry but I'm still finding odds and ends to wash (or freshen up) but, let's face it, we have to take advantage of the good drying weather when we can! 😁
Last night our water company started some nearby essential works that are due to continue all week until Friday evening. Not near enough to be noisy but disruptive in other ways. Our road is a rat run on a morning with drivers wanting to get onto the outer ring road but this morning was chaos - two lanes of the ring road have been blocked off and traffic was backing up as far as the eye could see. We have a primary school over the road as well so the school drop-off traffic was adding to the problem. Makes me glad I'm not a driver although it did provide 'interest' while I had my first cuppa of the day. And some bus stops have been suspended which did not make for a happy commute for DS. 🙄
Mr S has delivered groceries, all P&C, and all put away in record time too although there are some items still to portion and freeze but they're fine in the fridge for now. The much needed sink plunger will have a test run this afternoon - sometimes I lead such an exciting life! 😅 Tea tonight is salad with air fried scampi and oven chips. I think there could be a lot of salads and/or easy meals this week!
@loobidoo - Sorry about your cold, get well soon. Fingers crossed it doesn't affect your operation.
@TA - Well done on resisting the frozen foods! You deserve a medal as well as a gold star. 🤣
@mehefin - That sounds like a lovely Saturday, how kind of Gwen to treat you.
@dp1 - Good luck with the music player for your mam; anything's worth a try if it helps her.
@Chrisca - Glad you had a lovely week away with a room upgrade and treats thrown into the bargain.
Have a good day all, take care. xx
Be kind to others and to yourself too.8
