Morning everyone,
Thanks for the kick off Gers. 😊
I have a stinking cold. I thought it was hay fever but nothing I take seems to help. Having an op in a couple of weeks so really hoping it sorts itself out soon. 😐️
Working today and need to sort my time sheet. Looking forward to payday in 8 days!
Need to sort my ocado shop for tomorrow. I go between trying to stock up so there's less to think about over the summer, to freaking out about how much this week's shop will be even though it's all swings and roundabouts and it will hopefully save us in the long run. 🤣 It's definitely a mental thing!
Right, best get started - hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning Gers, thanks for starting us off.
Sitting here while it's still quite cool, windows open but no breeze. It was such a hot night which made it difficult to sleep, worse is to come this week. We are now forecast to reach 35 degrees, it seems to go up every day.
No work was done on the sink yesterday, a day off for Father's day, but the promise of completion today.
Dinner tonight will be another salad, I did cook a roast yesterday and we both enjoyed it.
Nothing else to report, have a good day all, take care.

Morning, thanks Gers. I realised last night that I'd started off here but hadn't returned! Not that I had anything earth shattering to say.
Yesterday was pleasantly warm and sunny, it's cloudy now but still warm.
Sorry you've got a cold loobidoo, summer colds always seem worse.
Hope you get the sink installation finished today Remmie.
Same old same old today, visiting my housebound friend up the road, then pottering. We did a bit in the garden yesterday, it keeps it tidy.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning all
It’s going to be another warm one I have all of the doors and windows open to try and get a through breeze, we bought a new fan a couple of weeks ago and it’s been a god send at night I keep it on a low setting all night so it’s much more comfortable.
Mum came up for dinner last night we were in the gazebo in the garden which was very warm so we set up a fan outside which made it much more pleasant. I am off to mums this morning to cook her some dinners and do her washing etc.
I have got a chicken out of the freezer which will be for dinner tonight if it defrosts in time if not there is lasagne left from last week which I had frozen, it’s just OH and I here for dinner as dd is working a late shift.
Take care all in the hot weather xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning again - online newspapers read and first coffee drunk.
The sun was glorious yesterday, such a treat! My washing dried very quickly, wish I had more to wash. I did a quick local shop and then went a bit further to pick up a buttery and coffee, both an indulgent buy.
The garden drew me outside and I sat in the heat until it became too hot for me. Even though it's north facing the sun appears over the top of the barn and across the house so it reaches the back end of the garden. I even cleared out lots of sticky willies which were choking the lemon verbena and rose bush. Then I pulled out the hose and watered a bit, especially the clematis which is very thirsty. The hose had sprung a couple of leaks and the trigger part was also a bit broken so I've ordered a new one.
When in the garden I picked about 30 flower heads from the beautiful black lace elder tree which are steeping in a sugar, lemon and citric acid solution to be dealt with later today. The flowers don't half stink of cat wee and yet make the most delicious pink syrup.
There's banking spreadsheets to update and the elderflower to deal with. Today the weather is rather dull, no sun to drive off the white cloud with only 20 degrees forecasted for here.
Sorry about your cold @loobidoo, hope it clears up soon. My cough is finally abating, maybe the afternoon in the garden helped!
Take care all - I will catch up soon. Hugs all round. xx

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It's currently cloudy so it's feeling much more bearable so far. It won't last says the local weatherman. 27 deg today but steadily rising as the week goes on. Into the 30' tomorrow and then getting hotter day by day. I'm not moaning honest as we had the cold stuff for far too long!
I was up and at 'em early doors after too much waking up hot through the night. So the job I always put off for too long got done at silly o'clock - I coloured my hair! The roots were getting whiter by the day. One day I'll give in and stop colouring it, but not yet!
There's no sign of the sun appearing any time soon so I think I'll go out and water all the pots next before it arrives. The chance of light rain they forecast for yesterday evening didn't happen unfortunately as that would have dampened them a bit.
I think dinner will be salad, baby potatoes and something that doesn't need much cooking. Something that will go in in the air fryer. I'll have a freezer rummage. And talking of freezers, nothing frozen jumped in my trolley yesterday at the sm so I awarded myself a gold star.
Have a lovely day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care, stay safe x

Morning all from sunny Mehefinland
Been following but not a lot to say so here's a quick catchup
A nice sea breeze currently, but the heat is rising already. Nags out early to beat some of the flies- they were ready to come in at lunchtime yesterday - standing by the barn door looking decidedly fed up!
Gwen treated me on Saturday for my forthcoming b/day. I have tickets booked for 10cc (got them last August) but she is not into that sort of music so I will take someone else. Anyway I was told to be showered and ready to go at 9.45 on my mystery treat. 1st stop was for a back massage!! Not had one before and it was an interesting and not unpleasurable experience. We then went for a coffee to kill a bit of time before going to the Royal Mint in Llantrisant for the tour. It was really interesting - I would go back again. A bonus was that there were no school trips on _ it's a popular venue apparently - so we were able to take our time and absorb the atmosphere and the astounding amount of 'stuff' there was to see. From there we went into Cardiff for a meal at a Syrian/Lebanese restaurant -a fascinating place with glorious tiled walls. It was a real family orientated place too .Then to the Millenium Centre for an orchestral concert. All in all a full on day- got back home about 11pm.
Watering beckons so hugs and spoons as always

Morning everyone
The forecast says it's raining here this morning but it's not. It's been a lovely weekend, not as hot as some of you but in the 20s which is hot for the north east coast. I had little one on Friday night, then DD picked her up on Saturday morning as they were going to a baby's first birthday party, then she arrived back at about 4 until just after lunch yesterday. When she came back on Saturday she was straight out the front to play on her bike with my friend's grandchildren who have been visiting for the weekend. I managed to get a lot of little jobs done so that was good. She loved having a picnic in the garden for lunch yesterday, then DD dropped me down at the care home for a couple of hours…straight back into the garden when I got home.
Still trying to get music on the music player for mam, I thought I'd cracked it then realised I need a different cable. The music has to be converted to an Mp3 file and then downloaded to the player. It's a very simple device, well once the music is on, you just lift a flap for the music to play and close it when you're done. My dad already has one in his room…the cable I used then must have been thrown out when we cleared the house. I'm hoping it might calm mam when she's in her room by herself after tea.
Camelot I hope your work problems are sorted in the way you hope
Gers your week away sounds really interesting.
Izzy I hope your jury service is interesting
Must get on as I've got to go to work in an hour, hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all
Back to reality after a lovely week away. Hotel upgraded our room for our wedding anniversary and we got cake and bubbly in our room which was lovely.
Expecting that we brought the hot weather back with us but it's cloudy and breezy at the moment but the rest of the week we're expecting 30 degrees plus so will top up the tan!
Just back from food shopping, first washing load to be put out on the line and the dreaded unpacking will be finished.
Hope everyone has a good day x
