I just got my credit report and on there I saw that Abbey had made a search and the search reason is stated as "Money Laundering". What does that mean?

It means abbey did a check to see what accounts you have open. Its a standard check most banks and institutions do them to make sure no one is being naughty........ It doesnt mean your being watched as they do checks on everyone, im with Lloyds and they often drop in for a little peek now and then.
These checks dont show up on your report when others look at it so they never have an impact on your credit rating.
Hope this helps!0 -
Well, that's a first for me, I have a look every year at my credit report, and, after many years, this is the first time I see it.
I was more curious thatn anything.0 -
